NANOTECHNOLOGY IN PRE-CATAPHORESIS PROCESSES

Over time, DN Chemicals has specialised in nanotechnological pre-treatment, especially useful for slowing down corrosive processes and improving the adhesion of coatings applied subsequently.
For this purpose, DN Chemicals has created the Dollcoat Line, composed of several specific products.
There is a notable difference in the application cycle between traditional phosphate processes and those based on nanotechnologies sprayed through Prometeus: the latter all consist of four phases compared to traditional ones.
The Prometeus spraying application model, created in 2005, has many important technical, qualitative, economic and environmental advantages that should not be underestimated:
– the nanotechnological solution cannot be polluted in any way;
– the quality of pre-treatment is always constant;
– the quality itself is highly superior to standard nanotechnological processes;
– the atomised solution even reaches boxed parts in contrast to standard spraying processes;
– the costs of the complete process are very low and, in any case, competitive with traditional processes;
– the Prometeus process does not produce any sludge or slurries.
Finally, one of the methods for rapidly verifying the protective quality of nanotechnological pre-treatment sprayed, primed with cataphoresis or powder and liquid paints is the Acet method, an internationally standardised test technique such as ISO 17463, which predicts the anticorrosive behaviour of the cycle in just 24 hours.
